At Pantaleo in St. Gallen you can get Pizza al Taglio, aka pizza by the slice from the tray, sold by weight or per slice for 6.50 to 7.50 francs. The selection in the display case is huge: from a classic tomato and mozzarella to an eggplant version loaded with cheese and basil. The base is wonderfully airy yet crispy at the same time, and the toppings are generous and fresh. What really won me over was the special version with the spicy tomato sauce and little bits of meat. Bottom line: finally a pizza spot in St. Gallen that lives up to the hype. A clear recommendation for anyone looking for genuine Italian Pizza al Taglio!
