Dein Kebab in Schlieren: Only Once a Week, But an Experience Every Time
This time it was off to Schlieren, to the Mibag-Areal, where the food truck Dein Kebab only opens its doors once a week. And that's exactly what makes it so special, if you want to try it, you gotta catch the right day. So off we went for the big kebab test: bread, sauce, meat and veggies all got put under the microscope. Let's start with the bread: the flatbread gets freshly baked up, is nice and warm and definitely has that homemade character to it. It could've been a bit more generous with the filling, but overall the bread makes a really good impression. The sauce is an in-house creation made of garlic, yogurt and a chili component. You can clearly taste a light heat along with a strong garlic note, while the yogurt stays more in the background. The sauce gets spread nice and evenly on the bread, so you get a bit of it in every bite. Nothing to complain about when it comes to the veggies: lettuce, red cabbage, onions and tomatoes all seem fresh and crisp, nothing soggy or old. But the clear highlight is the meat. They use genuinely good kebab meat here, the pieces are cut nice and big and taste intense and full of flavor. Even after eating, there's nothing sitting heavy in your stomach, the meat is really top notch. My verdict: a super solid kebab, a real full-track performance that's rock solid throughout. Definitely one of the better kebabs I've tried lately, and a clear candidate for my personal kebab ranking. If you're anywhere near Schlieren, you should definitely check out the truck, it's worth looking up their opening days!
